About ISRO Internship:

The Department of Space (DOS) has the primary responsibility for promoting the development of space science, technology, and applications to achieve self-reliance and promote the overall development of the nation. ISRO is one of India’s leading research and development institutions working to realize space technology and systems.

The Government of India has announced the National Education Policy (NEP-2020). As part of NEP-2020’s holistic educational approach, internships with local industries, businesses, artists, artisans, villages, communities, etc. will be provided to enable students to actively participate in the practical aspects of their learning.

ISRO in collaboration with prominent space agencies like NASA, ESA, JAXA, etc. has decided to introduce an ‘Internship Program’ for postgraduate/postgraduate research students to gain practical/industry experience.

The Internship Program provides a platform for interaction with scientists/engineers and invites young talented scientists and researchers from reputed academic institutions to join postgraduate programs in science/technical fields related to DOS/ISRO programs, Provides an opportunity to undertake graduate research.

The objective of the ISRO Internship:

(a) To allow young academic talent to be associated with DOS / ISRO Centres / Units for mutual benefit;
(b) The “Interns” may benefit by getting exposure to the Government’s functioning and application of theory into practice. This program would facilitate the young talent to choose a career path;

Eligibility:

1. Should be an Indian Citizen
2. Should be either pursuing or completing their UG/PG/PhD degree from a recognized University/Institution.
3. The Candidate should possess an aggregate of Min.60% or a CGPA of 6.32 on a scale of 10.
4. Students seeking opportunity shall submit a bonafide certificate duly issued by the Head of the Department/Principal/Director of the institute.
5. The Period of Internship shall be a maximum of 45 days & minimum of 15 days.
6. The interns shall not be eligible for accommodation facilities during their internship in DOS/ISRO Centres/Units.
7. The interns shall not be eligible for any stipend/remuneration/financial assistance.
8. Specialization/Branch relevant to the activities of URSC will be considered.
