Established in 1942, the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is an autonomous agency under the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.

In the online application, candidates will indicate their choice for the positions of Section Officer (SO) and Assistant Section Officer (ASO), as well as their preference for the cadres of General (Gen), Finance & Accounts (F&A), and Stores & Purchase (S&P). The allocation of cadres, namely General, Finance & Accounts, and Store & Purchase, to the candidates from the select panels will be determined by CSIR based on both merit and preference.

Important Note:
- Paper– I, Paper- II, and Paper- III will be common and compulsory for all the posts.
- All the papers will be bilingual (English & Hindi) except the English Language Part of Paper – I which will be in English only.

Evaluation:
- The candidates will be able to access the Tentative Answer Keys of the Computer Based Examinations on the CSIR website after the Examination. They are encouraged to review the answer key and submit their representations online within the specified time limit. However, it is important to note that a non-refundable fee of Rs.100/- per question is required for each representation. Any representations received through other modes such as letters, applications, emails, etc. will not be considered. The representations regarding the Answer keys will be carefully examined by the CSIR before finalizing the answer keys. The decision of the CSIR in this matter will be considered final.
- There will be no opportunity for re-evaluation or re-checking of the scores at any point during the examination. Any correspondence regarding this matter will not be considered.
- The candidates’ examination scores, in the case of multiple shifts, will undergo normalization using a specific formula. These normalized scores will then be utilized to ascertain the final merit and cut off mark. The formula itself will be determined by CSIR and subsequently communicated through the CSIR website.
